Non-Objective Sculpture

Pinching is one of the oldest and most versatile methods of creating in clay. Making a pinch structure may seem simple, but it takes skill to create artwork from a single lump of clay. Many Japanese forms are made in this manner according to an acknowledged sense of beauty. The key to success, and the focus of this project, lies in controlling the moisture, compression, attachment and thickness (MCAT) while you work.
